Westford Education Foundation

This year, Teacher Appreciation Week is May 7 – May 11. Want to thank a special teacher or staff member for an outstanding job? The Westford Education Foundation can help. Please consider sending a WEF card to your favorite teacher, teacher’s aide, counselor, school nurse, office staff member, or principal. It’s the perfect way to say thank you and support innovation in Westford schools at the same time. Money generated from these cards will be used to fund grants for the Westford Public School system.

Just make a tax-deductible donation (minimum of $10) to Westford Education Foundation, and WEF will send the honoree a professionally printed WEF card with a personalized note. The card will state the donor’s name, but will not disclose the amount donated. Donors may also opt to send the cards themselves. These cards also make appropriate end-of-year class gifts.

The Westford Education Foundation is an independent, 501(c) (3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting excellence in education. WEF funds grants to teachers, staff, and community members for innovative educational initiatives, professional development, and life-long learning ventures. It is with great excitement that we inform you that the Westford Education Foundation’s Spring Grant Cycle is now open. WEF will accept grant applications for innovative teaching and professional development opportunities through May 16, 2012. Successful proposals will be awarded on June 8, 2012. Westford Education Foundation has been most generous in supporting staff through this process. To date, WEF has awarded over $140,000.00 in grant monies for Westford educators. Please email Kathy Fahey at kfahey@wefweb.org with any questions.

Need a break from the hustle and bustle of the holidays? Join the Westford Education Foundation Thursday, December 29, from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Westford Papa Gino’s for lunch or dinner. A percentage of sales during that time will be generously donated to WEF in support of educational initiatives in the Westford Public School system. Coupons will be required. Bring this document with you when you come to Papa Gino’s. Join us and support a great cause.
